Gaming Rigs
« on: June 20, 2006, 03:15:06 AM »
I just was cursious as to what kind of machine everyone was playing on.

heres my info..

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 Dual Core 3.2ghz
RAM: 1GB DDR4
Memory: 100GB HD
Video Card: ATi Radeon x600pro 128mb external
Monitor: 17" widescreen display
Mouse: Logitech G5 Gaming Mouse
Keyboard: Standard Laptop Keyboard + Num Pad

I get around 600 or so max fps when its uncapped, but i like to cap it at 333 so my stuff doesnt overheat.  Thats with reflective water off on build 16 with high resolution textures.

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2600+
RAM: 768MB DDR
Hard Drive: 10+80GB HD
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9550 256MB
Monitor: 17" crt
Mouse: Logitech MX300
Keyboard: Microsoft Internet Keyboard

The secret to my success is a 256MB stick of ram and Asus motherboard acquired from the legendary [eR33t]Blitz himself.

Processor amd 64 3200+
graphics ati radeon 9800 pro
mem 1 gig
hd's too many to mention, but system partition is 200gb
monitor 17 inch Samsung LCD @1280*1024
mouse Logitech Mx310 which swaps place with an Evoluent vertical mouse 2 (seldom)
Keyboard Logitech something... ...with laptop-like keys.

The system was assembled a long time ago but still hangs on. The graphics card needs to be replaced soon tho', but I cannot still decide wether to just change graphics card or rebuild the whole system...

I've been running this for a while.
I also have a TV-Tuner in it, and a Netgear WiFi card, but I usually just use the onboard ethernet port for wired internet.

Sometime (hopefully this week) I'll be buying a SATA harddrive, because this is my first machine that has ever made me actually notice that IDE drives are slow, so once I get that I'll put Dapper on the SATA drive and put Win2K (that's how we roll in da hood) on the IDE drive so that I can run Tomb Raider: Legend without spending a half hour making it work in Wine on Ubuntu. I'm also gonna order a 19" BenQ LCD 2ms, the one that the CPL is using this year.  ;D

 :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Also wanna get one of those curved keyboards, I wear wrist bands 24/7 to try to stop my wrists from hurting while doing things but they still do often, so I'm probably gonna get one of those Ergonomics keyboards with the split spacebar.
