Bix and Olbaid, please confirm that you two are going to help get folks into servers this weekend at tourney time and coordinate things for me. I am still planning on getting one person to make brackets and judge if necessary.

Nub has agreed to make brackets and assist with demos.

The brackets should be up by around 6:45 pm Eastern.

This tourney was full of surprises.

We started out with a slim line up as some of the teams were intimidated by the map or just didn't sign up.

Then 3iob was eliminated in the first round. They struggled a bit early but I figured they would bring the comeback like last week's final.

But in the end IJ looked like Buster Douglas putting together the perfect night against Mike Tyson.  If the vent dialogue and irc pm reports are to be believed IJ was as surprised as the rest of us at their win.

eR33t meanwhile had a pretty dominating performance against Mili. There was some controversy in vent over a possible cap while the player was idle. Initially it was suggested that Nub review the demos. But  Nub dismissed that by stating that it didn't impact the match significantly.

The finals started out pretty tight but eR33t pulled away toward the end. The vent crowd was impressed by Olbaid's last round stand against two IJ members. He was trapped in the mid with both IJ players having one flag. He explained later that he forced them off the dry route assuring he could catch up if needed. He caught up to the first, finished him off then beat the second to the flag where he shot him out of the air, ending IJ's last ditch attempt.

Congrats to eR33t on winning the third Sunday Showdown.
