Grenades Causing Lag

This always has happend even when I started playing the game, Whenever a Grenade is thrown I get major like and fps spike. I only have a 800mhz and an integrated video card which i cant upgrade so is there a way to put the grenades detail in the explosion and stuff down? Becuase it gets really annoying when someone throws a grenade.

Go to the console and type "gl_stainmaps 0" or "gl_dynamic 0".  It's probably the stainmaps that are slowing it down.

Its that like decal fade? I would like to try that setting out on the server to see if it slows down complaints about lag.

It's a client side setting.  It has nothing to do with network latency, but rather problems with slow graphics cards.

IS there a server side setting that can lower the amount of time these decals are viewable. I was on a german server where those 'decals' did not stay (grenades).

Chances are the map wasn't lit.  Stainmaps only work with lit maps because they modify the lightmap.

You can't see any 'decals' on "xbmap1" for example ;)
