I wish one person could type with relatively correct grammar in this thread...

Euros and Americans DON'T ping the same. Although it is probably the closest to being fair. You have to realize that the people on the east coast will ping about 30, the people on the west coast about 100, and the Euros about 120.

As I have said, pre-configured servers in my opinion suck for many reasons.  They install the game, they run the server, all you have is sorta like a ftp access to upload maps and configs, I'm not sure you can even update the game version either.  If you wish to get a pre-configured server, then go ahead, but dedicated servers are better :).  More for your money, if you want to host multiple as well.

The old ch1ll servers were horrible. DP servers on that system were pointless because it would randomly throw map checksum errors. ..

I have no idea what you are trying to say.  But by the looks of it, it probably shouldn't be here.

I loved the old ch1ll servers.  I miss my nice 18 ping.

Haha, I forgot about that. Someone else bought some servers there after me and they were doing the same checksum error with DP on a different O/S. Counter-strike, Warsow and Q3 had no checksum errors at all. I never did sort that out.

The maps would actually get modified, too... like I had a copy of castle1 with two bytes that were different than the original...
