Voiceover, anyone?
« on: July 31, 2009, 09:03:21 AM »
I'm working on a map for the xMAPCOM contest (thread: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=17953.0) and wondered if anyone on the forums would like to do a voiceover to be played over some speakers in the map? The recording will be treated with audacity to sound tinny, so microphone quality isn't too important. It would just be a couple of lines and you'd be credited in the map message. If you are interested, please reply here :)

Custom sounds and textures do not a good map make. Necessarily. (I'm screwed.)

edit: darn you jitspoe and your exponential falloff!

Is that causing a problem?  You could always change the attenuation to play full volume through the whole map.

I really need to make map sound effects client side with a lot more options...

TY Zorch ^^

I did in the end make it play all over the map, the echo that I added in audacity helped to make that sound believable. Now I just need to liberally sprinkle PA speakers all over the place.

And some more attenuation options would be useful, because now I can't use a rain sound effect without copy and pasting the speaker :(
