Entities are negative
« on: October 17, 2010, 05:33:34 AM »
I was playing on our speed server a few minutes ago and there happend some weird graphic issues (just for me?).

1. Screenshot was discovery:
Almost the whole base was just a big colormix. Just the entities work. The mid area was almost ok. Only two or three textures were looking crazy. It was also strange, that the barrels in front of the base and on ice were looking weird and the other barrels in the caves were looking normal.

2. and 3. Screenshot was nolandr:
An opposite of the first screenshot, a little bit. The whole map was looking normal. Water (without reflective) was normal, too. But all entities are negative. Just the red playermodels are ok.

Yes, discovery was looking like this in the base, i forgot to make a screenshot.

Reinstalling graphic driver doesn't work. I have often those problems with the game. Sometimes I can play a half year without any graphic problems and sometimes I have them a few weeks.

I wondered about the irregularity.

What happens when you do a vid_restart?

Looks like some kind of texture memory corruption.  Do you get crashes or freezes at any time, or just screwed up textures?

vid_restart changed nothing :'(

Most of the time I just get screwed up textures. Crashes and freezes are very, very rare.

I would run something like prime95 to test your memory, though it's probably video card memory.  I'm not sure if there are tools for testing that.  I would think a vid_restart would at least change the way things look a little bit if it's memory corruption.  Try taking a screenshot, doing a vid_restart, then taking another screenshot.

Are you overclocking your graphics card?
Try underclocking it maybe.
