I read your install documentation, but it seems you dont have a guide on how to install it for linux. I would love for a detailed instalation guide, so i can play the game. please help.

It's supposed to be easy.
-Download
http://www.pbcup.com/community/paintball2_build016_linux_full.tar.gz
(or paintball2_build016_linux_full.tar.gz from any of the other mirrors).
-Extract it (tar zxvf paintball2_build016_linux_full.tar.gz)
-Goto your paintball2 directory (cd paintball2)
-Run the paintball2 file (./paintball2)
You'll may run into an error message when starting it. Let us know what it is and myself or someone else can probably help out.

Yea.. i did.... heres what it says after i type in "./paintball2":
Paintball 2 -- Version 3.21+r0.16
execing configs/default.cfg
Console initialized.
------- sound initialization -------
Initializing Linux sound.
sound sampling rate: 11025
------------------------------------
------- Loading ref_glx.so -------
LoadLibrary("ref_glx.so") failed: libXxf86dga.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
recursive shutdown
Error: Couldn't load gl refresh!
So how do i fix that?
P.S. please do not e-mail me the answer.... i "never" check that e-mail xD

What distro are you using? Seems dga isn't included in some for whatever reason. I think I'll just completely remove DGA support for the next release.

I have run dpball in normal Ubuntu (that's right, crazy people like me claim that Gnome is normal), so whatever the problem is, if its software, then check the repos'.

I have it running on Ubuntu right now. I needed to link the libgl.so.
