Bathhouse (beta 1)

First of, a lot of this map is an inside joke so disregard the references throughout the map. :P Second, the FPS in the screenshots is very low; that's because I'm running two instances of the game and I can't handle the reflective water well.

Note: A subset of y00tz's CTP1 is packed along with it. I did not prefix the map name with ctp1_ though, since it ruins my naming scheme and I'm not seeing the point. :P

I like the idea of including the ctp in small parts, you just added the pics you use, so that they'll overwrite if people have it, and add if they don't?  It's a pretty good system.   If we had faster in-game downloading I'd be definitely FOR DITCHING THE PREFIX, since people could very quickly download the ctp from server along with maps.


Also, gl_anisotropy may help the blur in the background, make sure it's set to 16 in game, and that your video card lets the application select it.

Looks pretty interesting. I remember back in the day I made something like this, it was a hotel pool. But it sucked.  ;)

Good looking map... I don't like the red tile(?) texture...i don't think it repeats very well.
Other than that those textures look amazing.

Also, I'd suggest just using the filename "bathhouse", because I keep forgetting what the prefix is.  I notice the textures are all low res.  Does the CTP not include hr4 textures?  I haven't caught up on all the posts yet to check it out.

I've uploaded the map to the beta server for testing (see PM for details).

Its awesome, but it lags my parents comp so bad i can move only 2mph and i dont have my own since im broke  :-X :'( :(

The CTP does include HR4 textures, did you not add them in your subset?

Edit:  You didn't :P
Which is cool, because it's a small download and it lets players play it still.  Users with ctp1 installed should be able to see HR4 textures.

edit 2:

Cool map, r speeds are bit high, a little too high for my taste, each to his own. 

I noticed the brush toilets which are fine, but if it's okay with you, I'd like to try to model some for that map, is that cool?  If so, let me know here, or in a PM, or in the Submit Model Ideas thread.

In other news, I will be leaving this computer (and my house) for a bit, and I will be stuck with another system... which I'm not sure is even capable of running Paintball to begin with >.>.

Tweaking the water levels to match exactly (as mentioned in the demo) might fix some of the r_speed and framerate issues.
