How can I stop getting this phone jack icon and stay in motion?
« on: September 05, 2006, 01:30:12 PM »

This image appears about 5 seconds after I get into a match. It prevents me from moving, though my connection is fine. Does anyone know a solution?

Cheers.

John,

make sure that you don't have any "downloads" going on in the background.

Are you on dialup? If so, quit all of your IM sessions and anything else that might randomly access the internet.

I have a router, and no downloads are going on in the background.

Type "netgraph 1" and see if you're getting any major spikes.

At the console.  Press ~ to bring it down.

It should show a graph at the bottom of your screen while you're playing.

Could his "rate" setting be an issue as well?? I know it was with the Quake 2 version.. Or at least part of it...

Rate can make it choppy, but I don't think it will lead to the phonejack.
