I'm a newbie & need an intro to the basics

Hi, I'm cowgomoo, a friend introduced me to paintball so Ive joined.
I'm completely new to everything about it though so can someone tell me the basics of, well... everything really, IRC, forums, maps, the actual game, etc.

mirc can be downloaded at www.mirc.com

for maps there are a few websites that are helpful.
