You need to create an account and login in order to be able to edit your post, but yes, it's true that this doesn't require Quake to run. It's a completely free and standalone game. It's not exactly like real paintball. The game play is a lot faster. Just download it and give it a try. It may take a little while to learn the ropes, but give it some time.
