I don't see how spinning around five times when you touch the mouse gives you any kind of advantage.  With the higher speed comes less precision.  You can turn faster, but you can't aim as well.

"With the higher speed comes less precision."    True if your not using an obtuse number, a setting at 22 does not cause you mouse to spin out of control.

"You can turn faster, but you can't aim as well. "   That is a matter of a persons hand/eye cordination. Some people like my self could do with a faster turning radious (via cmd) then the hinderence of the slidebar. Just imagine how many more would have died by my gun.

It really does help in extreme q2 senarios (now i know how some people are able to out turn me when "dancing with the rail", to me it was defying the laws of q2 physics. Now i know better) .

For instance,

I am a q2/alpha user who has his slide bar maxed and i am gaming with some one who has binded a higher "sensitvity" they are able to turn faster than I. Just, as if some one was running faster , its not fair, period. <<<(Please respond)

If the player is able to move faster via speedcheat or a higher senseitivty they have altered the physical limitaions which was set by the game designers (you and others) to make fair game play.

And if it is ok to bind beond the q2 default physical limitations set for players then hows about you give me the command to make my movement (forwards/backwards-left(strafe)/right(stafe) just a little bit faster!!!

point is this should not be allowed to be exploited and you can fix this .

your thoughts please sir :)

:o  I hate you.  That was 8 years ago and my friends mom paid me good !!!!!   :'(

I thought you were going to be cryptic not hurtful.

Comon bud  I  have a valid logical point . if i dont be kind and explain please.   I am learning ::) !!!

Or at least say"while on crack loial you could have a point in extreme tweaking"  lol talking about q2 tweaks  ;)

" I don't see how spinning around five times when you touch the mouse gives you any kind of advantage"

unless your using a q2 rat bot

And if it is ok to bind beond the q2 default physical limitations set for players then hows about you give me the command to make my movement (forwards/backwards-left(strafe)/right(stafe) just a little bit faster!!!     :)

If someone has a really NONsensitive mouse, they might need it higher than 20. Anyway, it's not not fair. So it is. They should just use the cmd.

And wait, you friend's mom paid you because of this? Whaaaa?

I fail to see what your argument is.  The setting is available to everyone.  How is that unfair?  If you set the value too high, it becomes unplayable; you won't be able to aim.  Try playing with your sensitivity at 200 or so.

"The setting is available to everyone"
Please don't say you ment that its "available" as in any user can toggle it, thats a given.

How is that unfair?

Just how were we supposed to learn about these cmd's and others that are not in your faq? That is the first way it is unfair.

(Jitspoe how did you learn about these commands and when will you start sharing more little know cmd tweaks?)

Jitspoe you said

("War Games" referenece follows in respect to all programmers) "MR. POTATOHEAD" I ment an obtuse number, you completely avoid/missed my point? Why?

True or faulse , yes or no Jitspoe

Is out maneuvering your enemy ideal in warfare, even when 1/10 of a second is the differnece between you living or dying ?

Does haveing this ability give you and advantage in the sense of out maneuverign/flanking regardless of accuracy?

Can haveing a slightly higher "sensetivity" than your opponet give you a faster turning radious in q2 thus enableing you to out maneuver?

Please be kind enough to anwser each question. yes or no. I am your biggest fan ice hole, so please resepct me and anwser these questsions one by one.

***EDIT*** Pretty please!!!

I've added it to the FAQ.  That fair enough for you?

I've known about the sensitivity setting for as long as I've known Q2.  Sites like these (which are incidentally linked from the Documentation page) contain a plethora of information.

Probably because I have no clue what an obtuse number is.

loial21 has good typing skills: faulse. ;)

Do I get two guesses?

"this ability" being...?  Ability to read documentation?

It can give you a faster turning radius with less mouse movement, but that's only practical if you can aim with it.  Also, turning faster != maneuvering better.  Some really skilled players use a sensitivity of 3.  They just move the mouse faster.

I never fathomed that people would want to set their sensitivity above 20.  Once it gets that high you start losing the ability to shoot through small windows/openings and, well, aim at anybody more than 10 feet away.  I can't understand why you're making such a huge deal out of this.

I can't either. The cmd is documented in more than one place, and it's available to everyone!

cl_forwardspeed and cl_sidespeed set how fast you move.  You can make them slower, but not faster.  I think the limit is 400, but "alwys run" doubles the speed or something like that.

IP for the documentation page is 207.38.10.100, but that's planetquake and there are no alternatives.  Why can't you access the page from home?

I am on company a network at home and at work,  I thought you knew that. Sorry  :P
Planeta del la quake is no bueno sez my company.

So cl_forwardspeed/sidespeed have been caped,  ok so how do the q2 speed cheats defeat the cap?  (trying to understanding how the cap is being bypased, not wanting to know how to cheat)

if email would be better forum....then email me

Speed hacks alter the timing of the system clock.
