Wrong ports on the serverlist
« on: July 08, 2007, 12:39:15 PM »
A server of mine has been shatting on the server list ever since we upgraded (to build 17). We can connect to it fine and have been able to for over a month now, but it appears on the server list multiple times with the wrong port numbers.

An excerpt from the server list as it stands right now:

Code: [Select]
12.215.255.37:8877
12.215.255.37:8881
12.215.255.37:8885
12.215.255.37:8888
12.215.255.37:8891
12.215.255.37:8897
12.215.255.37:8900
12.215.255.37:8904
12.215.255.37:8908
12.215.255.37:8913
12.215.255.37:8917
12.215.255.37:8920

We did recycle some of the configuration files, though I did "upgrade" them regardless.

What could be the problem?

Make sure that the ports are forwarded to the correct LAN IP. I had a problem similar to this a couple of weeks ago.

My problem was here and my solution is in the last post: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=7333.0

First off, you need to be using build 19.  17 I believe uses a different method for communicating with the server list.  Second, as KiLo suggested, you need to make sure the ports are forwarded correctly, otherwise you'll end up with random ports showing up on the list.

I'll check out what version it is running when I can (it may be 18/19 actually), but it still didn't work even when build 17 was the newest version. It's not a port forwarding problem because we can connect to it.

I couldn't, but maybe it's not up right now.

What cvar are you using to set the port?  Make sure you're using "port".  What OS are you running this on?  What kind of connection is it on?  Are you using a remote server or running this from a local machine?  What happens if you try using a different port?
