Ubuntu Wireless help
« on: September 07, 2007, 06:24:09 PM »
Ok i setup libpam-keyring so i dont have to type the keyring password in, but not when i login a dialog box pops-up and wants me to type my password in. Is there a script i could use that could auto enter the password, or have it connect to the wireless AP on boot instead of having to login

Remember the wireless settigns are based on the user's profile.  THis is similar to win32.  So you actually have to log in first, then activate the wireless.

Well i have it set to timed login because auto-login doesnt work with the pam-keyring or something but i have to enter a password. I just want to be able to chuck the box in my basement without a monitor and hit the power button, and do everything over ssh and vnc.

EDITED
I found something called WICD, i got it installed and giving it a shot. it replaces the network manager and saids it connects on boot and stuff.

EDITED again
WICD did the trick i got auto-login and it remebers the password for the wirelesss.
