Thats not the same thing as downgrading all the software though, right? You could just take out that part of the code. I wouldn't downgrade anything unless you actually know what you're talking about.

well im running a 1.5 on my psp right and it was a 3.5 so thare for it isOWNGRADED not upgraded and now i can run homebrew and stuff like that

That is, if you have the code or can remove it from the binary. Second, if signatures are employed, you can't do it at all. Since it doesn't as if most device manufacturers are really willing to release the source code for free like that, your only option is to downgrade.
