How to make ice?

Hi, pls help  me with makeing ice. I select slick in the surface menu and close that menu, but when i open the surface again, slick istn't selected. What's wrong?
Pls help. Thx.

After select slick, you have to click apply face or apply brush. Most time apply brush is the one, you need.
