.MP3 file sound help
« on: January 12, 2008, 10:25:02 AM »
Ok I was wondering if anyone knows of a program where I can open up any .mp3 file and change the overall volume of it(make it not louder) and then save it at the new decreased volume as an .mp3 file for use later. Don't ask why i need this but just help me out here.
Thanks.

iTunes does this if you iTunes.

On iTunes, just right click on the song go to get info, then click on options.

Select the whole length of the song, and select either Normalize (scales the amplitude so that the peak is the level you enter) or Volume (shifts the amplitude up/down) from the Process menu.

Normalize means you enter the volume that you want the loudest part of the song to be, and it changes everything to match it, and volume changes the volume probably in percent of the current one.

(I'm guessing)

Wavosaur >> Audacity.
