how on earth do you upgrade ball and spring i can get the ball in the tube but does not upgrade

It's possible to max out everything.  The ball doesn't upgrade until everything else is upgraded.

I figured it out!  I got max on all, and got the end animation to play.






!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




















put the person in first, then water, then the plants (lower left).  Now you need the pot...the rest you should figure out your self.  tip:  the ball is near last, and the springs should not be put in until the 3 platforms are made.
