Technically this isn't nostalgia...
« on: February 10, 2008, 01:43:54 PM »
... because I wasn't here at the time, but...

But I just loaded up Quake Innovations Paintball in DarkPlaces and I love it. And that was without even people to shoot.

I now want to go and make it standalone. And get a server going 24/7. It shouldn't be hard, what with openquartz and such.

Also, I want to get pickup games running consistantly again. Every 8 days, where people actually do play them. Sounds hard, If you want this to happen and can help, post here with your ideas.

Once me and flip have got our server system working, hopefully this will be possible, and more.

If you can help with any of this, please post.

Also, if this means nothing, it was a long day and I'm very tired.

Which mod is Quake Innovations?  The one that is the beginning of this game or your mod?

This is the "prequil" to Paintball 2: Quake Innovations Paintball, branched off of the QTeam mod which had the first implementation of CTF for Quake. It wasn't made by Digital Paint, but several people who worked on it are now working with Digital Paint.

Yea I thought I recognized the name.  Please do make it stand alone because I could never get it to open and didn't remember the game I needed to get it to work.  Half Life is what I need correct?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you use Id Tech 5 too?

Yeah, yeah, but that's pretty expensive to get a hold of right now.
