Feature: 2 gamemodes in 1 map

I dont know if there is a way to make it, but two gamemodes in one map could be very interesting.


Maybe a map where two teams play koth or pong in one room from the map and the other two teams play dm, elim or ctf at the rest of the map (they cant come into the room with the other gamemode, but they should see them playing).

The only important thing is, that the mappers dont mix the gamemodes...

Sounds interesting, but hard to implement. In the half-life2 paintball mod there are various fields in a single map, don't know whether or not they can have different gamemodes or not though.

I don't think this would really accomplish anything. Servers aren't populated enough to be able to handle any additional reduction in the number of players per game.

Misread that at first.  I was going to say, there are hardly any maps for koth and pong, let alone the two combined.  On that topic, there is some ability to mix and match game modes.  You can make flags that are grabable in KOTH, for example, and obviously you can have white flags in the middle of CTF maps.  What you're asking for is basically the ability to effectively run several maps simultaneously.  This would pretty much require a rewrite of the team system (probably wouldn't be a bad thing to rewrite that logic anyway, but it's likely to introduce a number of bugs along the way).  Also, what happens when the CTF match ends and some people are still paying TDM in another area?

Maybe they could switch to the warmup mode the last minutes. But te warmup mode need to be finished first :P

The dm could end when the ctf ends (points or time).
