Setting deleted and aren't saving
« on: March 28, 2008, 06:19:31 PM »
I got some spyware on my comp so I restarted in safe mode, deleted the spyware, came back and all my settings, config, and screen settings were gone. I had a saved copy of my config so thats all fixed. My screen was down to the smallest size it could go. Only thing that is still acting up is every time I start I have to click "enable high res textures." It won't stay saved? Anyone ever had anything like this happen?

Make sure the config file isn't Read-Only.

well, that was the problem for the two things, i had set my config to read-only when it got deleted. I'm still wondering why all that would reset though?

Probably because your NTFS file system remembered the old attributes for that file.  When you delete a file it must not clear out its attributes from the index, and if a new file with the same name appears in that folder it assumes the attributes that were previously there.
