some help?
« on: April 28, 2008, 01:40:18 PM »
OK so I'm on my grandma's computer and I've got four problems

1. I can't get my fps to go any higher than 60, don't know if that's just the computer but w/e

2. It won't let me load/download certain maps, i get this error:
Code: [Select]
Requesting maps/mapname.bsp
Failed to open maps/mapname.tmp
********
ERROR: Couldn't load maps/mapname.bsp
********

3. For some reason it will not save my settings, like if i make a bind on my mouse wheel to change hands the next time i start the computer up it won't load that.

4. Last one is i can't update to anything higher than build 20, it tells me that i have modified files and will be banned if used online

thanks to anyone who takes the time to attempt to help me

This sounds like you have VSYNC on.

Sounds like your directory is read only.  Are you trying to run this off of a CD or something?

Did you copy it off of a CD (and thus all the files kept the read only property?)

Check that you havn't acciedently made it read-only.
Right click on the main paintball2 directory and go to properties. Make sure (under the general tab, I think) that read-only is only half or not ticked. If it is fully ticked, then refer to jitspoe (im not quite sure if you should untick it or not :/)

Jitspoe has already said this.  Why did you just repeat what he said?

Lower resolution and put the graphics setting lower.

You can only do so much with out getting a new graphics card.
