"addip" command perm or temp?

i was wondering if the "addip" command was a temporary ban or is a permanent ban and is it reset if the server is restarted?
Some players just dont get the hint with regular 90 min temp bans.

Usually it's permanent, but you may have to "writeip" in order to save it.
