I'm looking for an SWF editor
« on: May 21, 2008, 06:23:39 AM »
I've got an swf file that I need to remove a section of.  Basically it consists of company logos that fade in and out, something that could easily be done with GIF Animator.

But since I don't have the original files to create a new swf, I'm kind of stuck, unless I can get the disassembled swf.

Any ideas?

you need to decompile it in a .fla file back...
but i think there is no freeware you need a Cr4c/<...

I've used www.sothink.com/product/flashdecompiler a couple of times and it's worked quite well. Of course, it's not free. I used it in conjunction with Adobe Flash to recompile it.

I don't know of any free editors/compilers, but I did notice this:
http://lives.sourceforge.net/index.php?do=features

It exports to swf, but I assume it is only exporting video, so it's not really compiling anything (I guess it might work if you recorded your redone animation, and could live with a larger filesize).

That's what's great about flash, all the proprietary and licensed formats used to keep you buying Adobe products and Flash media server.

You can decompile .swf?  I thought it only went one way...
