Pong server.
« on: December 23, 2005, 03:44:04 AM »
I got port forwarding to work on my router, so I decided to set up a pong server. 4 maps with pong ents. Yay. Sorry if your ping is over 100...

Maps:
Arenaball
kalnaughty_beta1
jakesmistake
ksplat1

It should be paintball2://24.22.118.137:27910

EDIT: Removed chilidogs and shazam22 because they played terribly. Map suggestions?

The ksplats have pong ents.  ksplat1 works pretty well.

Yes, but I took away chilidogs because of it's non-friendly terrain.
Jits: I don't like ksplat one because you can easily kick the ball into the other base when its at it's starting place.

Pong mode or the map in general?  I thought I had a .ent file for it included with build15.  Maybe not, though.

Gr. What I did was change the gamemode in the ent to 64-- and it doesn't work.

You shouldn't need to change anything.  I just installed build15 on this machine and downloaded ksplat1 and it worked fine.

How do I get it to play in pong mode? Gamemode doesn't do anything...

ctfmode, I think, but unfortunately it only takes effect when you first load the map because I added support for multiple game modes in rotation/voting.  I should really make some kind of forced mode, so it takes effect in all maps regardless of the mapinfo settings.  Currently the only way to make the maps play in pong mode only is to set the supported modes in the mapinfo files to just support pong.

That's what I did. And in the ents. Neither worked.

I'll work on adding a forced game mode.  You shouldn't have to edit the .ent files at all (for the maps that already support pong, like ksplat1).
