External Tablets?
« on: July 04, 2008, 01:26:05 AM »
I am in the market right now for any external tablet that hooks up via usb, and that includes drivers for both Windows XP, and Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2.

My choices so far are:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Genius-Slim-Tablet-G-Pen-F610-Black_W0QQitemZ180260866088QQihZ008QQcategoryZ3680QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

and

My budget right now is under $200, and I am not looking for the best of the best, but something that has a bigger active area than 4x6, etc.

If you have any suggestions, please, do suggest them.

I prefer Wacom over Genius, but the sub-$200 range limits you to 4x6, with the exception of the CTE650's

I've never preferred tablets over 6x8 - the 9x12 you link to doesn't specifically mention OSX drivers, do all Genius' include OSX drivers?
If so, I really think something like this would be perfect for you:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883101103

Put the $150 into a CD.

If you mean certificate of deposit when you say cd, then no, because it will take a little to long for right now.

I think I have decided to go with Wacom, and get a cheap used intuos/graphire/bamboo fun off ebay, depending on which one I win.

Thanks for all the help!

I would go wacom. Had good luck with them myself, though I still use an old intuos 1. The wife uses a graphire.

I have an old wacom.  Never used a Genius, so I can't say anything about it.
