bit silly to show old names as you can't tell anything from them.
For instance, the name "hero" has been owned by 12 players since the start of the login system. Whats the benefit of knowing someone used to have that name...
Also the fact that people are allowed to change their names means they are allowed to pick and choose and throw away when they don't want anything to do with a name ever again. If this history is available I for one would be more picky about what names I have used, but its not, so I haven't been. So then, is this idea to try and limit the number of names people have, or change?
Also, if someone is going to that length to hide their name, why bother even trying to find out, what does it even matter who they are??? They can't put on a fake clan tag, and you're never going to know everyone in the community anyway....
I just don't get why..
When someone wants to join a clan or when you want to scrim someone it would be nice to know who they are.
is even an issue.
If it were up to me, you'd have one name period.
* KnacK points to Steam and other online games that do just that.
No ty.
True, they require one static account name, but you can also change your name in those games freely because it doesn't kick you for spoofing (at least, not in an automated fashion), and that's why it works so well for Steam.
