TV Tuner Card...
« on: September 19, 2008, 03:23:01 PM »
I'm building a media server for my apartment out of an older computer, and I want to put a TV tuner card in it.  Any suggestions?  I don't want to spend too much, so I'm looking for something under about $50.  And it needs to be an internal card.  No USB adapters.

any ati card or haupauge wintv card.  I've used both and they work great.

Make sure that they can tune ATSC and that they are on M$'s HCL.

A lot of the WInTV cards will run under *nix.

I would review sites dedicated to MythTV as they will have a lot of the hurdles taken care of for you.

Are there any cards that also have a "TV out" or do I have to do some fancy adapter work with the video card?

Usually some will have an S-Video out, but typically not an rf output
