If you want range get a tippmann flatline or a flatline autococker.

Dont run your marker past 300fps. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Must? If you found it you should know if ti was or not.

No more weapons will be added to this game so stop asking. Knack would you do the honours of locking this thread?

Stop posting about new guns...if there are any new guns coming you will know. There is absolutely no need for that.

As for new guns, i'd rather consider a new gun similar to the pgp but with balls flying at autococker ballspeed AND an autococker-based one with pgp shoot-interval.

Are we talking about real paintball, or this game?

All this talk about getting hit by a ball would kill you.. What? I think a long range  sniper-type weapon would be a cool addition, and give a different edge to many a match.

How about an external tool to replace existing weapons on demand?

You couyld set things like:
Velocity
ROF
Number of pellets
Spread

and maybe even load a new model of gun if got one.

So if anyone wants to create their own weapons, they're free to do so. I know games that are using this approach (Liero, probably Q3, maybe not appearance-wise, but certainly shooting wise) and it would stop any topics "MAKE NEW GUNS!" in their tracks. I certainly would like one to play to create eg. paintball shotgun.

IMO, no. This would take quite a lot of work. a) to stop hackers just putting it on the best settings (cos im presuming you wont b able to have an autococker spraying 10000 paintballs in every shot every 0.01 secs).
b) because it would require a heck of a lot of calculating by the server to tell what gun it is you're using and alll it's properties, for every person (I think!)
c) it would need an even more complicated GLS to compensate, and all the settings would have to be stored on a server to make it even slightly unhackable.
And i expect i've just said the biggest load of excrement in my life

That was rather constructive, but pardon?

It would be totally server side setting as I can tell from q3. One setting on the server, everyone share it. So noone can get better weapons than others.

And this would be just 4x8 = 32 numbers to send in the beginning of the game, if nondefault + models if there are any new.

And obviously editor would need to set some reasonable bounds at values of these variables, as eg. you really don't need too many pellets at once, maybe 4 or 8 would be max,
