How do I find what version I have?
Also, is it good to have the newest version or what?
One more thing, what does .NET Framework actually do?

It basically provides a bunch of functions and classes (just classes, actually. But whatever.) for programs that use the .NET framework to make things more centralized and easier to update, and make the programmer's job easier. In theory.

Example With .NET:
Program: Hey computer, how do I make a window?
Computer: Hey program, just check this stuff out.
Program: Cool.

Example Without .NET:
Program: Hey computer, how do I make a window?
Computer: what the hell
Program: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-


I dunno, I think some stuff ends up embedded in the exe or something. I'm no expert on the subject, but yes, it is nice to have the latest version of the .NET framework if you want to use .NET apps.

Eh, I'm not sure what had happened earlier or what. But when I installed the latest version of .NET it seemed like my fps would drop in Dp. Like, on certain parts of the map... Which never happens.

So, It's basically pointless then - right?

Well i am missing mines and everytime i try to install it i get an error at the end. The only alternative i can think of is to copy someone elses .net framwork then paste it into the folder on my computer. I never got around to it cause the i usually find an alternative to the program that uses the missing .net framework. Although i will feel better to try vent out instead relying only on teamspeak.

You HAVE to install it.  You can't copy the .not folder.

The best thing to do is windows update and make sure that you have all the updates from .not 1.1 to .not 3.5.

For the record: If you have a new pc or are reformatting a hard drive, you have to start with .not 1.1 THEN 2.0 THEN 3.0 THEN 3.5.  It's not like a service pak where 3.5 has everything that 1.1 has.

Yes they wre intentional.  As much crap as .net gives us sysadmins .not is more appropriate.

The .net frame work is a lot like the Java Runtime Environment.

The software did not help me. i went back to the earlier versions and tried to install them but it always ended in error so nothing could be done for me to get the .net framework.  Any ideas on how to help with this or tips. It would seem that my most recent framwork is the 1.1 hotfix sp1

I am running the updates but now i am running into some problems. The updates are starting to fail... I want to throw my laptop in the wall buy a new one!
