New Map: Out In The Open

Hello everybody,

  I have been working the past week on a map. I have gotten tons of help from awesome people on IRC as well as the tons of posts on the forums.

- mode: CTF

  Known Bugs!
- there are a few known textures that are not completely aligned ( i wanted a b1 release )
- the lights underground can be hit if jumped into the tunnels just right

i played it. when i went obs i went under the map and it was leaks
Can you give me a SS or a demo? i do not get this error not matter how many times i obs?

In this version I seem to have got the lighting down but i also have more texture lifts...  i am working on this now...

You need to make sure your map is vised and lit before releasing even a beta version.

A few thoughts:
- Those are some huge barrels.
- Lollipop trees are ugly.  The map would look better without trees than with those.  (And why does everybody use the wood grain texture instead of bark)
- Why does the red base have a blue wall, and the blue base a red wall?
- Grass doesn't usually grow well on walls or underground.
- Lots of misaligned textures.  Are you using an appropriate grid size?  Try to stick with 32 or 16, depending on the texture.

I think it would be less work to scrap the map and start over than try to fix all the alignment and leak issues.  The grid is your friend.

If you want to use trees in your map, try using sk89q's tree models.
