Ugh (Antivirus 2009)
« on: December 21, 2008, 06:33:26 PM »
I need a little help removing this virus.  It's on a computer that I'm trying to fix.  The only scan that I can run is the "Pandascan" from pandasecurity.com.  It's a good scan, but it only tells you whats wrong, and only fixes it if you pay.  I've tried to install AVG, that didn't work.  I got Spybot installed, but it refuses to start up (I have TeaTimer up and running though).  I tried to get Windows Defender installed and running (cuz the others weren't working), but that service won't start.  And, the windows update service refuses to start.

I've tried registering DLL's, removing DLL's, reinstalling Windows Update, but nothing works.  Can somebody offer some help?

1. make sure that you are in safe mode when you are trying to remove these viri.
2.Make sure that you only have one av scanner installed at once or you'll be worse off than not having any.  AV scanners don't play well with each other.
3. Try trend micro's house call.  Its a web interface that will scan your pc.

I've tried in safe mode, same results.  Also, he apparently had McAfee installed at one point, but it looks like it was removed by something or someone (not cleanly, mind you).

Either way, I just plugged it into my laptop and ran a virus scan on it.  Came back with 18 Trojan Horses.  >_<

Edit:
Looks like that one worked.

Please note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware.

hmmm not happy about that...

OK I need help from you guys, I keep getting all these Bad image errors for everyprogram I try to open and in the error it says somthing about a vihigita.dll but i cant find it on my computer. I read online that I have to reinstal windows, is there anyway to make my computer normal again with our completly reformatting windows?

Also my computer has been running really slow and I run clean up, defrag and spysweeper everyday but no luck. Spyseeeper always finds AdWare: virtumonde and even after i quarentine and delete it it still comes back like 10 minutes later.
