Mirrorr.bsp not proper for PBCup
« on: February 06, 2006, 10:12:21 AM »
Another bug (discovered by Playah) related to pbcup found.

But this one is harder as it should justify the take off of mirrorr.bsp on PBCup maplist.

Demo is attached.

Oh yes, you cant play this map when 8 people are just trying to get through this "hole" :)

Plus its not mentioned in this "Content concering the preseason maps."

So its probably unknown = bug.

I'll check out the demo when I get home, but if it involves getting somewhere you shouldn't be able to, there's always the option of making a trigger_hurt with an .ent file that will kill anybody who exploits it.

Ok, I've made an ent file to fix the issue.  Test it and make sure it's no longer possible to get through the window.

This bug is rather interesting.  I must have changed something somewhere.  In Quake2 when you crouch and step off of something, you stand up again.  I remember crouching down hills and bouncing up and down because the game kept popping between crouched and standing.  I don't remember changing this, but apparently now you can crouch down hills, down stairs, and off ledges without popping back into an upright pose.  Now I'm wondering what I did, and in what version the change took place.  I also wonder what animation it plays.

You mentioned wanting to fix that last summer. Looks like you did in 15?

I just tested the .ent file out.

You cant jump on the edge, then jump against the "hole" and coruch through it.

BUT you can jump on the edge, and then just crouch through it.

New Demo is attached.

You gotta run the map, Matze.
Put some acebots in or debug1 1 and you'll see when you go through there, it will kill you.
