Easy bans
« on: April 07, 2009, 09:18:33 AM »
Is there something like a ban.txt that would allow you to have a list of banned IP addresses in a text file that would load when the server starts?  Something like the rotation file.   If not move this to the feature request thread if it isnt there already.

Hmmm... Is that the simplest way to do this atm?  Put this in feature request if it is....

check your configs folder, maybe its there already:  banlist<port>.cfg
insert the port number for <port>

There is no banlist<port>.cfg in the configs folder.  If i make that the server would recognize it though?
Is there a command to put in the config? like for the rotation?

set rot_file pball/configs/rotation.txt

set ban_file pball/configs/rotation.txt  ??

Ban someone, and then it might appear, at least it did for me.

addip <ip here>
writeip

Those should add an IP into a ban list, then you can add more, because I believe that adds a ban file under what b00n said.  Then just open it up, and add more bans into it through the .txt file.  Also if you create that .txt file, i think you can just put an IP in there?  I can't check atm.

If it does this automatically it should reload them every time the server is stopped no?  It doesn't right now.

If its in the banlist<port>.txt file it should reload all of the bans everytime the server starts, I'm not sure why it wouldn't do that, its stored in a file.  Did you check after restarting it if they were still in that file?

Ok.. just tested this, I added an IP ingame with addip command.  Then checked everywhere in the dpfolder,  no banlist27910.cfg.

If i make one will dp recognize it?

edit: well its late noone is probably on, i guess il try.
