Then how come nobody is complaining about muzzle flash in games with real guns? And it's been around since what? Wolfenstein3D?

That is  an exception, not the rule, as far as CO2 gassing out the front of the barrel. Nice RT though.
I'm going to have to disagree with you.  That video isn't even CO2.  It's HPA.  CO2 is usually far more pronounced.  I've never seen a gun fired with CO2 that didn't have a visible cloud.  On a humid day, CO2 looks more like this: http://paintballgames.com.au/images/firing-fully-sick.jpg (lol @ words - just what I ended up with on google image search).
