[Bug] rot_file setting doesn't work
« on: May 10, 2009, 02:27:05 PM »
If i change the name from the rotation file, then change the rot_file setting in the serverconfig to the new name and start the server, it doesn't load the maprotation.
It looks like the rot_file setting was ignored. I can change it to everything, but it (want) load the rotation.txt each time.

Is this an issue with the new build?  Here's what I have in my config, and it seems to work:

set rot_file pball/configs/rotation1.txt

I don't know if it's an issue with build 27. I don't used it before.

Tested it on windows and it works. Then i tested the same on our linux server and it doesn't work. :(

What happens if you type "cvar_get rot_file"?

It shows me the same, which i have in the config file.

And i tested to save a new map in the renamed rotation file. It works. The mapname is in the renamed file.

This bug frustrating me...

After i started a linux server i have to join the server, log in and type in "rotation clear" and "rotation load" to get the right rotation. So the setting works fine when someone has connected, but the server loads the rotation when the server starts. Not when the first player connects. So it doesn't work.
I think it is the same thing like that the hostname, password,... will be set when the first player connects and not when the server starts.

Here is another bug, which has maybe the same reason:

Are you setting the rot_file before you load the map?  You need to set all of your settings before the map command (./paintball2 +exec whatever.cfg +map whatever)

Good to know. I'll test it.

Edit:

I've tested it with two servers and it works now
Why does nobody else know, that the position of the commands is important...
Big thanks

If i have time tonight or tomorrow, i have to test, if it solves the problem with this too: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=15168.msg185610#msg185610
