Trying to delete a CS hack, but can't: "access denied"
« on: July 06, 2006, 07:46:57 PM »
Hey, i have a hack for counterstrike in my games folder, which is also in my paintball folder. I'm willing to delete it in order to play paintball (when i start the install it says i must remove my cheats). But my problem is that when i go to delete these files, It won't let me, i get this message: "cannot delete file: Access Denied. Make sure this isn't being used by anoyther program".. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out, i want to play PB2!

Sounds like more of a problem with the cheat than pball. As far as I'm concerned, you're on your own...

That probably means that the cheat is running at the time...wouldn't have happened if you weren't to try cheating like a n00b at any game, but here's a possible solution to it: Ctrl+Alt+Del and then look for that program on the processes list, then try to kill it, if you can't...then its a naughty file that you don't want at all, probably a backdoor, so you'd want to boot into safe mode in windows (hold F8 while the computer is turning on) to get in and remove that little bugger.

Should have thought of that before you installed the cheats. ;)

rofl, a real h4x0r would easily be able to delete it, but since you're a nub who tried to use cheats, GG Reformat...or boot into safe mode like I said before....

Rofl, if you need to hack in CS to be able to win at all, that's sad, get yourself a good headset and train your ears and you can hear where everyone is, no wallhacks needed.
