fps lags

since few weeks i have some unreal fps lags.. not sure why..

usually i have 300-350 fps with my notebook.. played several months with this.. than since june, my fps dropps down from 350 to 45-55 for 3-4 secs, then going high to 90 and after 10-15 secs again 350 for 10 secs..

anyone have a clue why? or how to fix it?

already scanned my pc with microsoft security essentials (no malware or virus)

already installed a new graphic card driver

t6600
win7
4gb ram
nvidia gt240m 1gb

no idea really, but i play with my fps always under 100, i dont know why this is but it mite be running other programs at the same time or whatvr. what i did to help is went to nvidia control panel and added paintball.exe to the program list and messed around with a few of the settings, changing quality to performance etc. it seemed to help,i now have around 150-170

try running in compatibility mode, kill all other running programs in task manager, check DP settings to make sure vsync or anything in video isn't turned on?

I just know it works fine for me in Windows 7
