Some of you may have seen the film "Tron" and played some of the games based on the lightcycle sequences: (http://www.gltron.org/) (http://armagetronad.net/). For those of you that dont know, lighcycles are bikes that leave a long wall behind them, trying to force other bikes to crash into it (think competitive snake with sometimes infite lengths of walls). There was also an official game (http://buenavistagames.go.com/product/tronPC.html) but it wasn't seen to be particularly well made. I'm trying to start a project featuring simultaneous lightcycle and FPS gameplay possibly on the snake engine, but I'm not sure whether it would be possible to feature long walls generated during play. Can anyone offer any help or advice? It would be much appreciated.

I do believe this has been done over and over again, since the beginning of time. Unless you're wanting to do something like a FPS, but with the tails behind people. Which would suck.

Me and Blitz actually lanned Tron 2.0 back at eR33tcon.  It wasn't too bad, as far as reproducing the whole Tron thing.  I don't know how much you'd be able to improve on that game.

I don't think it's ever been done as freeware (it has with lightcycles, but never FPS as well). There was Tron 2.0, but it was commercial and quite frankly not all that good. Too much was added which resulted in spoiling the lightcycle section.
