holla folks  :)

my windows-server is running, a few questions to this one:

1. extra dedicated server for windows needed
2. possible to start map in server.cfg or only at startup with +map xxx
3. how to change maxclients, possible to set in server.cfg or only at startup with +maclients xxx
4. how to restart server in console or at server directly
5. colored hostname and motd
6. bots, possible to set in the server.cfg with name and team

thats enough for my first time  8)

thx a lot

some1 knows how to set pb2 under linux debian, it allways crashs up to 2 players and some other bugs like flying boxed pballs :-/

1. +set dedicated 1 +game pball +exec server.cfg (+map crates)
2. add map <mapname> or add +map <mapname> on cmd line
3. ? use rcon ?
4. ? pass
5. ? pass
6. ? pass

About the linuxpart. I run it under RH with no problem (v1.7x). Check out this thread
If that wont help you, check with Sad, he runs Debian. (Last time I checked)

1. Make a batch file or shortcut to run: c:\paintball2\paintball2 +set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg +map shoots_plaztic_for_suggesting_crates
2. In theory, you could put "map whatever" in server.cfg, but I would put it at the very end.  It's just as easy to add "+map mapname" to a batch file or shortcut.
3. Either will work.  I'd keep it in server.cfg.
4. By restart do you mean reload the map?  If so, just "map mapname".  Remotely, "rcon <pass> map mapname" (I think), or with login, "newmap mapname".
5. Colored text is coming in build7.  You'll have to wait for that. :)
6. Bots aren't ready for public use yet.

Use the all seeing eye to find the servers, you can get all of the servers informtion from there, ie: ip, port etc.

Build7 is gonna have a different font system, so you'll need a new funname editor :)
