"pb2 is not a jump mod"

You answered your own question. Why implement something that is for a jump mod if the game isn't a jump mod?

Creating mod API for servers won't be easy and i guess no one will create mods (if you know how to program then you join development team, else you can't create mod). So mods are not good idea if everyone can join paintball dev team. And that is at least 10x easier to add patch like 'ghost mode' than creating API to create mod... If noone will create more.

Creating maps isn't exactly easy either, but there are people able to learn it and make some new maps. So what makes you think that this time it will be any different?

It's not easier, because now jitspoe would have to do it on his own. Once ability to create mods will go public, you will be able to create eg. server modding tools, like mentioned before, or put your own libraries/scripts containing new game modes.

Actually, that whole "pb2 isn't a jump mod" is hilarious.

You can repeat it all you want, but it won't change the fact, that at least 2 or 3 of the most popular servers (like ic3ys or Skouby) are in fact jump servers. So how about we finally become able to deal with reality instead of denying it?

I created my first map to paintball after 2 weeks of learning. And i guess, if i start with no programing knowledge, writing mod will take at least 2 moths. So, creating mods is harder than maps (in my opinion).
You didn't answer my second argument: It's at least 10x easier to create new mode, than creating API for mods. So we can add 10 new modes instead of creating API and waiting if someone will create one mod. If you ever make Jitspoe to start working on anything... :)

Noone of dev team really care about that there are some jump servers, because there is something called 'q2jump' where other dev team works on it, so we will never be good as q2jump at jump servers. Then why our dev team should invest time to add that features, if they doesn't have ever time to add easiest features like stupid 'ghost mode'?

So, just to be honest, you are dreaming.

I'm not sure why you think it's hilarious. Dp isn't a jump mod, what don't you get it about it? Sure, it has a jumping aspect to it, but it's still not soley based around jumping. It's a Paintball mod, correct? Hey, I love jumping, and I agree that jump servers are popular, it still doesn't make this a jump mod? I'd rather Jitspoe work on something to actually improve the Paintball aspect, like a new map format than doing what you have suggested. It's actually you that seems not to be able to cope with this game not being a jump mod, so why don't you stop denying it?

Rick is right. The only "jump" aspect of this game is introduced by maps made for that purpose. There's no difference in the game itself on jump maps.
Now, compare that to q2 where there is actually software called a jump mod.

Two simple facts, I don't think I can put it any simpler, if it still evokes such a rage, then there's nothing else I can do:

1. People are playing jumps just like they're playing pong or 1flag or tdm, you're not gonna change it short of banning them, which would be pretty boneheaded (to put it gently).

2. Ability to make a custom game mode (and game mods in general) would go a long way from just being dedicated to jumps. See http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=22257.0 if you still don't get it. Originally I thought about adding a cvar for collision detection between players, but if it cannot be separated from shooting and can be created as a mod by someone else, then whatever.

One simple fact, Dp is a Paintball mod, not a jump mod. Just get that through your thick skull. Silly Euro. If you want this added, go ahead and code it, Jitspoe's not going to.

Edit: You linked me to the weapons game thread, what for? How would this collision thing help that mode?

If enough people want it, I'll implement it.
