New youtube mapping tutorial series!
« on: June 30, 2013, 08:44:47 AM »
Hello everyone!

I have started working on a series of video tutorials for making maps with BSP.

The purpose of these tutorials is not only to inspire players to become mappers, but for the ones that really want to map to be able to actually use the program. The text guides are great, but videos actually show you how to use the program itself, how to navigate around it and show them tips along the way.

I don't claim to be a good mapper, I am hardly a moderate mapper, let alone a good one. But I know how to use BSP and that's what the series is for. It's based off the struggles I had when learning mapping, I couldn't find any good detailed tutorials, there were some, but not that in-depth and mostly in german.

Here's the playlist:

I will try to keep this updated. :)

Hope it's helpful,

Cool! Hopefully we can get this group of videos out there to inspire more people to become future hall of fame mappers.

I thought you will talk something... At least you could put some nice music in the background. It's boring to watch muted videos

Okay yeah :D
I don't talk in my videos as my voice is horrible, literally I sound like 11. Due to the amount of trolls on pb2, I don't think it would be a wise idea to use my voice...

However, music is a good idea;D

If you don't like your voice then use Siri to narrate your vids! lol

Also you don't sound that bad but I can understand your reluctance, very good job with the videos though.

Cool.  I would suggest texture loading as a first step, though, before you create any brushes.

Yeah, I said in the text to ignore what I was doing with the brushes, it was just to demonstrate leaks.
