If someone had the time to make that kind of file converter, that would be cool. But it would also be possible to get a screen video capture software and record the demo on one of those. I use CamStudio but it's pretty crappy with its frame rate and its inability to consistently save anything over 3 minutes.

Since the game engine is open sourced, this is something that, technically, anybody could work on.  It probably wouldn't be difficult to do a bunch of frame captures.  I think ViciouZ did something like this.  The challenge would be capturing the sound.

OK, so after you have it downloaded it & installed DP2Demo2AVI, here are the steps:

Step 1: Delete DP2Demo2AVI. It's absolutely terrible.
Step 2: Use fraps, xfire, any other game capture system.
