Tactical B3!

Hello everyone,
I have been working on a new, simple map called Tactical.

The layout is simple and the map isn't very large, yet not too small. Perfect for 2s, 3s matches.

One flag per team & 1 mid flag which is worth 3 points.


Here are some screenshots:




Beta 3 is now released.

Really its just the bunker the rest is Great JMR.

But with the bunkers they feel a little big.(just my opinion)

Plus the Gap here..

and The missalignment here.

and if you look closely around some of them you got some wierd lines come up. did you get an errors while compiling.?

Plus add a good sunlighting to the worldspawn
e.g.:
"_sun_light" "250"
"_sun_ambient" "30"
"_sun_diffuse" "60"
"_sun_angle" "150 -30"

Oh and the bunkers are meant to be like that so you can't just stand at one to shoot (you have to stand further back) This prevents people just sitting there.

Looks good. i attached a few pictures with Feedback. Hope this helps. :-)


You should extend the mid area.


Red: Change the texture to the ground/dirt texture.
And you should use the ice texture, instead of the glas texture.


Green: Change the texture to gras.
Red: Extend the brush.




Green: Change the texture to gras, again.
Red: Extend the brush, again.


Delete this. This is needless :)


This area looks really empty, add a barrel or something.


Add sth like a ramp here.


Green: Change the textures to gras.
Red: Extend the brush.


Add a wall-brush here.


The windows should be deeper.

Played this a bit on the beta server.  I feel like I'm constantly running into things on some paths.  For example, if you go through mid, then left, to  the team flag, it's almost impossible to avoid hitting one of the angled bunkers or the wall.  I would widen the path and/or remove/shrink/reorient the bunkers.  I don't know that they're actually that useful.  I think I only used the center one.  On the note of the bunkers, I'd make the windows a lot smaller so they provide more cover.  Since they're transparent, you could probably make the opening just large enough to shoot out of and be able to see through the rest.  As they are now, it's really easy to shoot people in the windows.

The trick jump path to the flag is pretty unbalanced if only like 1 person on the server can do it.  You should consider adding something the new players can climb up on so they can actually use that path.

I'd like to get more maps out of the "beta" directory and into the regular maps directory.  I think this one is mostly fine.  There are a couple things that would be nice to fix up, though.

1) Not sure what happened to the rock texture here (compiler error? - might need to tweak the brushes a bit or rebuild them).

2) Would be nice if the wood edges were aligned with the edge of the brush here.

3) You can thank omni for pointing this out, but the brush edge is not aligned here.

4) This surface with a grass texture is not walkable.  It's a good idea to have consistent messaging for players (like grass = walkable).  I'd try to make the slope less steep if you can.
