EA's 'Invasion of Privacy' Policy

"Gamers with Jobs has posted an article  covering EA's privacy policy for Xbox Live users. In a nutshell, by using an EA game over Xbox Live, you are automatically creating an 'EA Online' account and granting Electronic Arts the ability to collect your name, address, and credit card information, as well as a variety of demographic information about how you use their products. Not only that, they explicitly say that they may tie these demographics to your personal information — no anonymous aggregation here! When Gamers with Jobs asked EA and Microsoft about these issues, they were met with stony silence, a fact they attribute to the pending release of the new Madden game next week. Without an official comment from the companies involved, it certainly looks like EA has the most invasive privacy policy they could come up with."

MicroSoft has always had spyware built into almost everything, why would console games be any different?

I'll be semi-legally obtaining my copy of Vista for free just as I always obtain MS products. :P No point in pirating or paying when you can get legit for free.

A lot of other games come with annoying stuff too, they usually just send info on the codecs that you use and your computer hardware. I could see xbox games sending lots of info on the contents of your harddrive no problem. You know how MS loves to see your homemade skins for your linux dashboard, the pic of Smokey wearing those assless chaps...

Nah, I usually get that kinda stuff for free because friends of mine's school's give them a certain amount of money or credit or whatever that they are free to spend on MS products for school, and since almost none of them use MS products or they already have what they need, then I get the stuff for free.

Also dumpster diving has a very high success rate for me as far as software goes.
