A good detail texture?

I'v been messing around with some photoshop plugins, i made this wood texture that i think would look good for details, because it dosent tile very well.

heres a decent plank-like wood one

This one has seamless tiling

I think wood is better off photo sourced.  It never quite looks right when it's computer generated.

What are spec's for hr4 textures? i think i can make some of the textures that arnt hr4, in hi-res.

When testing textures, you should create a larger surface area.  Mappers tend to create vast, blank walls of a single texture, and if they tile poorly, it looks really bad.  You should also work on making the rock less... angular.  They look like geometric shapes.  I've never really been able to get hand-made rocks to look quite right, so good luck with that.

The rocks look good with those geometric shapes imho.
there were a few other new hi res textures a while back.. how about putting them in a hr4_2 pack?
