Alright i have this book of jokes...and i came across this joke and it makes no sense ... there has to be a meaning to it lol I'm determined

Dr. Chesnut: Wow what happened to your ear?
Buz: I bit it.
Dr. Chesnut: Thats impossible
Buz: No, no it's not..I was standing on a chair.
