if only i knew how to make scripts, i would make something like autograss to make the maps more detailed, can DP use CVS?

they use CVS in Cube:Sauerbraten, its really, really complicated to me though

Eh, it uses CVS to store the engine source code, but I imagine you mean something else by CVS.

it means something like current versoin *** i forgot the rest, its used to modify the version and edit the game from text files

Concurrent Versions System? Yeah, it's for maintaining the source code, but you have to know how to write code in C to do anything with it. The CVS isn't necessary. It just helps keep things organized.
