Build 17b Bug?
« on: March 09, 2007, 12:30:58 PM »
Well since using Build 17 ive been getting major fps losses at areas of water and smoke. From My usual 75(vsync) down to 35ish... Heres the screens. First one is without the water area.

It looks distorted because i have 1440x900 resolution, but this is been scaled down.

My Specs are, AMD XP3200, 1.5gig ram and a Nvidia 5700 128mb. I doubt i have poor specs for this game since i get 40+fps on Css even in water areas.

Yuck.  You need to set youl gl_picmip to 0.  That looks awful.

As for your framerate, try setting cl_sleep to 0.  Also make sure you don't have any processes in the background taking up CPU (things like virus scanners are bad about that).

Are you running an lcd monitor? If not, your screen must jitter like a big dog with ticks!
