Quake 2 engine

Hey, I'm trying everything to run pball through the q2 engine like I use to be able to. All the players in the servers play with the stand alone and can't help me. I have tried installing older versions of pball and then the update to try and get it to work. Is it still possible to play pball through the quake 2 engine? please help. =(

I dont like the way the stand alone looks - its choppy at its best. I want the quake 2 engine.

Not gonna happen.
Get the standalone and quit crying about it.

I dunno, its just not smooth like it use to be. Poor lighting also.

Nah I won't get the standalone again. I gave the standalone a good run and was disappointed.

If anyone knows how to make this mod work the way it originally was made to run with q2, please let me know.

Maybe it's your computer?   It feels 200% better than Quake 2 on my machine...  And not as smooth?  Hmm.  Maybe it's your video card.

Here's how I've played it as standalone: Download the normal dpball installer and run it to get the files, download the Quake 2 Evolved binary, put it in the paintball folder, run it with the mod set to "pball". Now you have an awesome looking Quake 2 Engine that can run dpball and not look crappy like the current Quake 2 version. =D

Sounds like you settings are screwed up. Anyway, if you were to get it running using quake, you wouldn't be able to play on many (if any) servers.
